Right now Mercanta is a waitlist, and this page keeps pace with that. There is one thing we hold: the email address you choose to give us. Here is exactly what happens to it, in the plainest terms we can offer.

What we collect

Only the email address you submit to the waitlist. Nothing else. This site runs no analytics, sets no tracking cookies, and does not build a profile of you or your visit. If you never enter your email, we hold nothing about you at all.

Why we collect it

For a single purpose: to notify you when Mercanta opens in the Greater Toronto Area. We use your address to tell you when the door is open — not to market unrelated things at you.

Where it's stored

Your email is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure — specifically Cloudflare KV, the service that also hosts this site. Cloudflare runs a global network, so your address may be stored or processed on servers outside Canada and be subject to the laws of those countries. It is kept there for one reason: so we can reach you when we launch.

We don't sell or share it

We do not sell your email address, and we do not share it with third parties for their own use. It stays with Mercanta, for the purpose above.

How long we keep it

Only as long as it's useful to you. We hold your address to tell you when Mercanta opens, and we keep it until you ask us to remove it — at which point it's gone. We don't hold onto addresses for their own sake.

Removing your email

You can ask us to remove your address at any time, and we will. Email us at [email protected] and we'll take you off the list.

Questions or requests

Mercanta is accountable for the email you entrust to us. For anything about your data — to see it, correct it, remove it, or just ask a question — write to [email protected] and a person will answer.

Updates to this page

This is an early, honest account of a simple waitlist. As the product launches and there is more to explain, we'll replace this summary with our full privacy policy. When that happens, this page is where you'll find it.
